Uthando Gathering 2018

We are very excited to be able to share some information about our upcoming Uthando Gathering 2018 which takes place 4.30pm  Friday 7^th   to 5pm Sunday 9^th September. Based at the Serpentine Retreat Centre, 48 Lewis Rd, Serpentine Western Australia, in the heart of the jarrah/marri forest, the Gathering is going to be a wonderfully restorative and creative weekend for all…a time for self-care and an opportunity to draw on the talents of some extraordinary doll makers.

Our special guests for the weekend will be two outstanding women from KZN who think and care deeply about their communities. Jill, works for the Family Literacy Project in Underberg, KZN and Mabongi Mtshali is a Zulu elder, doll maker and community activist in Pietermaritzberg. They will share stories of love, support and resilience and recount real life examples of how our dolls impact on the lives of many children and their families in KZN. Throughout the weekend, the women will offer some clarity around our theme for the Gathering “How do children in KZN thrive or barely survive?”
